NEWTON SPRINGS A SURPRISE

CITY OVERWHELMED

A day of bright sunshine drew an

attendance of 9000 spectators at Carlaw l'ark this afternoon, when two games, which were brimful of interest, were staged. Newton, the Cinderella team of last season, proved the surprise packet of the day. They raked City f°re and aft, and won bv such a wide margin that there was not the faintest doubt in regard to the abilities of the respective teams on the dav.
