FURTHER POOL PAYMENTS.

It is expected that the final butter of this pool will be shipped in the middle of June. Tbe board decided to make further payment over tbe whole quantity of a penny a pound about the cad of June, representing the distribution, of ££50.000 and bringing the average paid out to 1/2J £o.b. The cheese pool, which covers the whole eea*on, will, it is estimated, total 972,000 crates by the end of July. A further payment of approximaiclv £110,000 will be made oa this pool at the end of next week, bringing the total advance to 7d. A further 2d per lb oa the wbey butter pool will be distributed next week. 6o Per cent of Batter Sold. It was shown that 60 per cent of the season's butter output and Sβ per cent of the cheese has beca cold. Gradings for the eight months to April 30, tbow that 79.3 per cent of butter and S(LB per cent of cheese were graded "finest." Advances have totalled: Butter, £3,714,* 840; whey butter, £70,776; cheese, £3.523,034. Mr. Goodfellow's Views. Mr. Good fellow indicated that, in his opinion, the suspension of tbe pricefixing policy of tbe board was a colossal blunder. lie considered tbat if tbe board I had only stood firm for another few weeks everything would have been definitely stabilised. Pooling under tbe present conditions was a mistake. He further considered tbat the board should do the whole job or nothing. Mr. Goodfellow gave notice to move at the nest meeting: That tbe pooling of dairy produce be terminated as from April 30." Mr. Bryant gave not ke to move at the next meeting: That the price-fixing policy of the board be reinstated. ,.
