CROSS-COUNTRY CONTESTS,
NEW ZEALAND COUNCILS POLICY
(By Telegraph.— Press Association.)
WELLINGTON", Tuesday. The council of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association has advised the Wellington Centre that its policy resanlin? representation at the crosscountry cham|>i<inships of Australia and New Zealand at Adelaide on August l> was declared at tinlast conference of centres, namely, that tlio council could not finance Mich a venture. If the tour is to proceed It would require to be financed hy the centres, the cost beinst approximately £«0 per man. The opinion in athletic circles in Weilinston is that if a team is to ko forward centres will require to act promptly, otherwise the date set down for deci>inn of the New Zealand ero>s-c«untry championships at Chris (church. July 2, would require to be set back.
