CONDITIONS AT TAUPO.
LAmOE CATCHES KSPOKTED.
TROUT FOOD PLENTIFUL.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) TAUMARUNUI. Tuesday. Messrs. E. J. Guthrie and G. H. and F. Macky have returned from a tithing expedition at Taupo, where they secured 250 fi»h, which were in excellent condition. The largest catch was on tbe lake, when, with two rods, they landed 26 trout. Mr. Guthrie secured nine fish in the river weighing 701b. The river at present is difficult to fish, owing to snagß which, on account of the absence of flood waters, have not been ecoured out. There is no absence of trout food, the river at present teeming with it, and consequently the fish are in first-class condition.
