Mr. W. S. Glenn, MJ». for Rangitikei, is at the Grand Hotel.. air. A. McCosh Clark and Mr. H. C. Clark left for the South by train last night. Mr. and Mrs. D. C. Davies, and Mr. and Mrs. W. Johnston, of Hamilton, are at the Commercial Hotel. Mr. D. Bohan, of Wellington, Mr. A. K. Stowe, of Palmerston North, and Mr. P. C. Hunt, of London, are at the Hotel Cargen. Mr. John Henderson, whose health lias been indifferent for some time, has left, with Mrs. Henderson, on a trip to Cambridge. Dr. Joseph, of Hamilton, and Mrs. Joseph, who were in Auckland for the week-end, left for Hamilton by car yesterday afternoon. Mr. A. J. McEldowney, secretary of the Wanganui Y.M.C.A., has been appointed secretary of the Christchureh Y.M.C.A, in place of Mr. R. A. Kenner, who » returning to Auckland. Mr. Justice Stringer left for Wellington by last night's express. He will be relieved at the remaining sittings of the Supreme Court by the Chief Justice, Sir Charles Skerrett. Staying at the Grand Hotel are Mr. J. Holden (Dannevirke), Mr. C. 3» McLean (Feilding), Mr. G. E. Haggitt (Palmerston North), and Mr. A. W. Wakely (Wellington). Mr. M. H. Wynyard, a member of the Main Highways Board, left by last night's express for Wellington, en route to Christchureh. He is expected to return to Auckland on Saturday. Among the guests at the Star Hotel are Mr. W. S. Baillie (Lower Hutt), Mr. G. H. Adams (Palmerston North), Mr. S. W. Fordham (Wellington), and Mr. G. Rabone (Palmerston North). Mr. Frank Goldberg, managing director of the Goldberg Advertising Agency, Ltd., who has been located ir. Sydney during the 'past two months, will return to New Zealand by the Tahiti on May 19. , Mr. H- L. Benjamin, of Messrs Vickerman and Lancaster, has been appointed permanent engineer to the Hawke's Bay Power Board, says a Press Association telegram from Napier.. Mr. G. Lawrence Taylor, president of the New Zealand Dental Association, and Mr. C. Moses, left by motor for Wellington yesterday, to attend the annual dental conference, which opens there to-morrow. Among the passengers by the Arawa, which arrived in Auckland on Saturday, May 7, was Mr. C. Wade, an English, commercial artist, who has come to New Zealand under engagement to Messrs. J. llott, Ltd., advertising agents. Guests at the Central Hotel include: Mr. Gtly Laurance, Mr. Fred. W. Bishop (Sydney), Mr. and Mrs. M. Bernadson, Mr. and Mrs, A. Graven (Nelson), Mr. Bond Grove (Wellington), Mr. Don Cameron (New Plymouth), Mr. S. W. Skidmore (Melbourne), Mr. C. T. Ivory (Nelson), Mr. James Payne (Wellington).
