MAORI CHIEF BURIED.

GATHERING AT NUHAKA. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) ) WAIROA, this day. The remains of the late Ihaaka ! Whaanga, eminent chief, were buried at ' Xuhaka in the presence of the largest gathering ever seen there. The funeral was a full miliary one, and by direction of the Government, a firing party was ' provided. The Maori Pioneer Battalion, and every local body and sports organisation were represented, and natives from all parts of the North Island were present.
