A "PEARL" WEDDING.

CELEBRATED IN ST. HILDA.

MR. AXD MRS. ALEX. KILGOUR.

(By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") DUNEDIN, Saturday. Silver weddings are fairly common, golden weddings are celebrated every now and again, and a diamond wedding is not unknown in the community, but rarely indeed are a couple spared to live together for sixty-five years, and to celebrate their pearl wedding. This happiness Has been granted to Mr. and Mrs. Alex. Kilgour, of St. Kilda. Yesterday about 150 relatives and friends gathered around them in the Reid Hall, South Dunedin. It was indeed a happy gathering, and doubtless brought sweet memories to the bride and bridegroom, who at the aga of Iβ and 22 years respectively were united at East Taieri Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Mr. Will on May 13, 1562. On that occasion the bridesmaid was Miss E. Kilgour, the bride's sister, and she as Mrs. Walter Beck officiated in a similar capacity at the golden and diamond weddings, and again yesterday at the pearl wedding, thus sharing in the unique record of her sister and brother-in-law. •

Mr. Kilgour was born at Leslie, Fifeshire, Scotland, and came to New Zealand by the Sir Edward Paget in 1856. Mrs.Euphemia Kilgour (nee Peat) was born at Auchtermuchty, Fifeshire, and came to Dunedin by the Pladda in 1860. They were married as above stated, and had ten of a family. Three eons and two daughters are etill living, and there are 31 grand-children and 25 great-grand-children.
