J. H. Wilson) said that up to March 31 last 132.6 route miles, or 184.4 circuit miles, of line had been erected. Exclusive of Devonport, the consumers had gone up from 285 on March 31, 1926, to 2112, to which must be added tie North Shore figures. The power purchased had been 862,568 units, of which 423,010 was supplied by the Auckland Power Board. In view of the fact that supply was available over only a limited area for the greater portion of the year, the figures must be considered very satisfactory. Details were given of the change-over necessitated at Devonport, where the board took over the municipal scheme, the voltages being 3300 and 11,000, the latter being the board's figure. A certain amount had been done and the future programme was: June 1, change over Stanley Point area; July 1, change over Sumner Street and Mozeley Avenue areas; August 1, change over Clarence Street sub-station, supplying central area. Regarding the central district, it was not intended to change over the whole reticulation in one day, but to work on selected streets in turn. In preparation for that work the 11,000 volt circuit along Calliope Road to Stanley Point had been wired, and guards were being fitted wherever necessary. Referring to the county section, the engineer said the 11,000 volt line to Titirangi was made live on the first of the month and a supply given to the City Council on May 10 at the breakpressure tanks, where the filtration plant of the city water supply is to be operated. Low tension circuits along the main liue had now been wired and supply was now available for consumers. Swanson district got a supply on the eighth, a short extension had been run to Point Atatu to supply the county council with power for a haulage motor, and a second gang had been put on in the Reweti section to expedite work, tie men being transferred from the Henderson district, as the major portion of the work at Swanson and litirangi was now complete. The board resolved to complete the canvass of the Glenfield and Albany district with a view to ascertaining of a payable extension could be authorised
