I ITS ECONOMIC IMPORTANCE. | | ADDRESS BY MR. T. SIMSON". "Refrigeration" was the subject, of a lecture delivered last' night by Mr. T. Simson, manager of the Auckland Farmers' Freezing Company to the members of the Auckland Agriculture Science Club. Mr. Simson spoke of the development of the industry from the .very earliest times and explained the methods at present in use, pointing out the latest developments in regard to the equipping of refrigeratyr plants for handling the various fruit products. He dealt especially with the importance of refrigeration upon the economic position of the Dominion and said that there were numerous advantages over the process of chilling. The meeting, which was attended by a big gathering of members, was presided over by Professor William Riddet, professor of agriculture at the Auckland University College, who is president of the club.
