SQUEEZING THE SHILLING.

Take a sheet of stiff paper and a shilling. Cut a round hole, somewhat smaller than a shilling in the centre or the paper, and announce that the trick is to pass the shilling through the hole, which is smaller than itself. You may invite your friends to try their luck at solving the problem before giving it

away—as you must do if you mean to perform the trick. After everyone has given it, up, place the shilling over the hole and lift up the pa.per till it is folded in half (see illustration). Now, if you bring all four corners of the paper together, tou will enlarge the hole, and the coin will easily pass through it. A GOOD CATCH. Ask a friend if he can write his name in one letter. This sounds very strange, doesn't it? But really it is ever so simple, for nil you have to do is to write your name inside one big letter 0. Say your name is Mary Browne, you write it like this: Draw a big 0, and inside write " Mary Browne." OH! EYE SAY! "I know something that has ils eye in the middle of its nose, sir." "Really!
