LONDON WOOL SALES. GOOD COMPETITION. Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having received the following cablegram from their London house, dated May 13:— The wool sales closed active, competition good, attendance larger than usual. As compared with closing rates of last series best Merino, scoured, Id to l'.4d lower. Scoured Merino, other descriptions, par to 2d lower. Greasy Merino, par to Id lower. Greasy halfbred, unchanged. Greasy crossbred, medium and fine, J /=d to %d lower, except superior unchanged. Greasy coarse crossbred, '/id to 94d lower. Scoured crossbred unchanged, fine slipe par to Id lower; other slipe unchanged. Lambs, Merino, unchanged. Lambs, crossbred, ttd to Id lower. There were offered 06,721 bales. The Continent has bought 40,000 bales, Home trade 26,600, America 1500 bales. Carried forward 43,500 bales, o£ which 2G,000 bales were not offered.
