Mr. H. L. Glenn, of Colombus, Ohio, U.S.A., is at Hotel Cargen. Mr. George Howie, of Morrinsville and Mr. B. A. Smith, of Ngaruawahia, are at the Commercial Hotel. Mr. F. W. Burley, of Hamilton, who has been on a visit to Australia, returned by the Aorangi on Monday. and Mrs. J. A. Murdoch, of Hokitika, who are* returning from an extended tour of the Commonwealth. are staying at the Ambassadors Hotel. Surgeon-Commander G. D. Macintosh, of H.M.s. Philomel, who has been on a short visit to Sydney, with Mrs. Macintosh, returned by the Marama last evening. Staying at the Grand Hotel are Mr. R. L. Howette (Sydney), Mr. Robert Allan (Christchurch), Mr. S. E. Hughette (U.S.A.), Mr. H. M. Saux (Paris) and Mr. A. W. Duncan (Wellington.) Among the guests at the Central Hotel are: Mr. P. Bond (Hawera); Mr. J. P. Smith, Mr. I. F. Davies, Mr. RollsWilliams, Mr. A. B. Cribb (Sydney); Mr. W. B. Brabazon (Whangarei). Among the guests at the Star Hotel are Mr. A. E. Piech (Hamilton),- Mr. and Mrs. L. X. Willoughby (Hamilton), Mr. and Mrs. P. Holgate (London), Colonel H. Hedland (Palmeirton North) and Mr. W. R. Davidson (Wellington.) Mr. C. Eugene Smith, who served the Government Life Insurance Department as an outside representative for eleven years, and who has held the position of of new business manager for the National Mutual Life Association of Australasia, Ltd., in both Wellington and Auckland for the past four and ahalf years, has been appointed general manager of the Commonwealth General Assurance Corporation of Australia, head office Sydney.
