PRESBYTERIAN STUDENTS.

M£H FOR THE MUCISTHT.

A HEARTY WELCOME.

At a time when reports from different churches are to the effect thai there is a scarcity of' candidates ior the ministry it is of interest to record that at the meeting of the Auckland Presbytery last night, a band of about 18 young men were introduced by the Rev. W. H. Roseveare as students, and probable students for the ministry. Mr. Roseveare said the Youths' Committee had been asked to get into touch with young men. who had an inclination to study for the ministry. Aβ a result the committee had got into touch with about thirty young men. He did not wish it to be understood that the whole thirty were at present students for the ministry of the Presbyterian Church; but tome were students, and the others bad intentions of entering into the ministry. Some of these young men were at present engaged in other vocations. The committee wanted to offer help to all young men who felt a call to the ministry of the church. The Moderator then extended the right hand of fellowship to each of the young , men, as they filed past, while the members of the presbytery remained standing. The Kev. Thomson extended a very hearty welcome. He said it was a very heartening eight to see such a body of young men who had. it in their minds to go into the ministry. It augured well for the future of the church, to see such a promising looking body of, young men coming forward for the work of their church.
