She had a son about 21 years of age who started work soon after he arrived in New Zealand, but his wages were then email, and he was unable to pay the full amount of his board. Hj-s mother had to help. She kept a common money box, paying into it and taking out ' money with which to pay the accounts, and she soon found out that she was getting short. "She got on the skids and skidded hard," said counsel. "She slipped and once found herself in trouble sha found it hard to stop."'
