SUSPICIOUS FIRES.
OLD CHRISTCHURCH HOUSES. EVIDENCE OF INCENDIARISM. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Sunday. Two old houses, one of two storeys, in Moorehouse Avenue, were burned on Saturday evening. The houses had been taken over recently by the Technical College Board, which intends to erect a new building on the site, and they had been partially demolished. The outbreak occurred simultaneously in the two houses, which were 50ft apart. The fire brigade authorities state that there was every indication that the houses had been wilfully set on fire. There were no insurances.
