DUNEDIN, thia day.
Gustave Johnson pleaded guilty at the Police Court to-day to a charge of being in charge of a motor while he was intoxicated.
The police stated that defendant ran into a cable car. The Superintendent of tbe Police witnessed the accident and stated that defendant wu nearer drunk than intoxicated. He was fined £25 and prohibited from driving for three yean. Defendant after the accident was found to hare a "double" chart showing that bets had been taken, and in consequence, on a charge of carrying on the business of a bookmaker, hie was fined £200, there being two previous convictions.
