QUALIFIED.
SENT TO ROTOROA.
"ABSOLUTE PEST WHEN OUT."
ONLY GOT DRUNK AT WEEK-ENDS.
Besides being charged with drunkenness in Queen Street on Saturday, Alexander Alison (40) had to answer a further charge of breaking his prohibition order, at the Police Court this morning.
It was his second breach of his order and his 15 appearance before the Court, so the police said. Mr. Allan Moody, who appeared for the relatives of accused, stated that Alison had been on the Island before. When out he was an absolute pest to his family. Counsel suggested that Alison should be given a further term at Rotoroa.
"I only get drunx at week-ends," Alison told Mr. Hunt.
"You have qualified for the Island again," said the magistrate, who committed Alison to the Inebriates' Home for 12 months.
