WAITEMATA GOLF CLUB.
MERGER RUMOURS UNFOUNDED. OFFICIAL DENIAL GIVEN. Rumours that the Waitemata Golf Club is to be amalgamated with another club in the near future s re stated by the secretary of the club, Mr. K. A. Kennedy, to have no foundation in fact, and the committee express regret that Rubbercore, the "Star" golfing correspondent, should have given currency to the rumours through his notes.
Mr. Kennedy says the question of amalgamation has never been brought before the committee either by letter or by word of mouth, and that the committee has no intention of merging with any club. The club is, he states, stronger than it was last year and its prospects very high. No complaints moreover have been received by him from any member with regard to the facilities provided.
