SOCIAL GATHERINGS.
Miss Beth Stokes' merry party at the Click Clack Cabaret on Thursday night was a huge success, the dressing and the supper decorations being most recherche.
The ..Regent Ballroom held many Easter parties Saturday night and many pretty toilettes were worn by Mesdames G. Clifton, H. Clarke, Magill, Misses Goldwater, Seabrooke, D. Richardson, Porter, Wright, Worthy. Wilson. • • % •
Mrs. J. M. Stokes, gave a delightful party at the Click Clack Cabaret on Wednesday night for Jier daughter Elizabeth, Among the guests were: Miss Cherry Anderson. Miss Kathleen Horsley, Miss Dolly Yaila» Miss Xora Mappin, Miss Owen Kingston. Miss C. Rainger, and Miss Joan Stokes.
The Northumberland dance on Saturday night, given at the Click Clack dancing hall, was beautifully done, representing a night in Japan. The colourings blended excellently, with dainty maidens and the latest evening gowns.
Mr. and Mrs. Tom Buddie gave a most enjoyable dinner party at the Northern Club prior to their departure from New Zealand. Those present were: Mrs. Maitland, Mr. and Mrs. A. Johns, Mr. and Miss Bertram nnrtyuvAWAyu-w,,

Amongst the many pretty frocks were those of the hostess, in black lace appliqued with pink roses; Z\li~s E. Ford, royal blue, dull metal skirt worked in blue: Mins Aekroyd, sequin pink georgette; Misj. Plummer, cyclamen brocaded taffeta: Miss Timks, amethyst and crystal; Miss Dewing, fuchsia beaded georgette; Miss Stokes, turquoise blue taffeta worked with French posies; Miss J Stokes, gold lace frock, peacock blue chiffon, smart sash
