BROADCASTING.
The reply of "Satisfied" to my complaint in your column is not very satisfying to me. I know that I am privileged to" listen-in at » penny a night, but I have to pay it in the form of 30/ a year in advance, and from this 30/ the Broadcasting Company gets i.">/ to provide mo with reasonable and enjoyable entertainment. Even the schoolboy with a ha If-a-crown set ha* to pay his 30/ in advance, or. as he was solemnly warned by broadcast the other night, is liable to a fine of £.'>ou. Personally, I would cheerfully pay the fine than have* to listen right through some of the IYA programmes. The company is receiving a large revenue, and should not patronise us after the manner of a rector at a charity concert, or weary us about the "studio piano."' AMATEITL
