SMITHFIELD PRICES. BETTER DEMAND FOR LAMB. The New Zealand Meat Producers' Board has received the following cable from its London office, dated April 13, advising Smithfield delivered prices at that date as follows:— New Zealand Wethers and Maidens.— Canterbury quality, selected brands, 56's and under, 6ttd per lb; 57-64, 5%d; 65-72, 4*4 d. Other brands, 56's and under. 5%d; 57-64, 5%d; 65-72, 4%d. New Zealand ewes ; 64's and under, 3%d. New Zealand Lambs.—Canterbury quality, 36's and under, 9%d; 37-42, B%d; 43-50, seconds, B%d. Selected brands, 36's and under, 9d; 37-42, B%d. Other brands, first quality. 36's and under, 8M:d; 37-42, B%d; second quality, 30-32, average, Bd. Australian Lambs.—Victorian: First quality, 36's and under, 7%d; 37-42, 7V*d. Argentine Lambs.—First quality: 36's and under, 7%d; 37-42, 7d. Argentine chilled beef: Ox fores, 2%d per lb; ox hinds, s'/4d. Frozen beef: Ox fores, 3Y*d; ox hinds, 4%d. Frozen pork: 80-1201b, B%d per lb; 120180, 7&d. • Lamb.—A better demand is being experi enced. Th e market is firmer. Mutton. —Market quiet. DAIRY PRODUCE MARKET. EASTER ALLOTMENTS REDUCED. Dalgety and Company. Limited, report having received the following cablegram from their London house, dated 13th inst. Butter.—The market is steady at present prices. New Zealand butter at 151/ to 154/; Danish butter at 182/ to 184/; Australian finest salted at 154/ to 159/; Australian fineest ufcsalted at 158/ to 162/. The total imports of butter into the United Kingdom for last month were 549,Q00cwt as compared with 468,000cwt for corresponding period of last year.
