Thousands of children were present it the annua! primary schools" sports meet* ing at the Domain on Thursday. Despit« the fact that the entries reached tb« amazing number of 8000, the manniT and promptness with which the cvcnU were run off was indeed a credit to the officials. The whole programme vai carried out without a hitch, and stoma idea of the positions in which those in charge were at times placed may he formed from the fact that several of th» events had to be run in twenty heats. Although times w ere not recorded for the race*, some excellent performances were registered. In the Jong jump, the winner put up the exceptional figures of l"»ft' luin. a. very fine leap for so young an athlete.
