LEAGUE FOOTBALL.
PRIMARY SCHOOLS - COMPETITION". SIX TEAMS ASSURED. A special committee is to be appointed for the purpose of establishing a League football competition in the primary schools. This was decided upon at a meeting of enthusiasts at the Auckland Rugby League rooms on Thursday evening when the chairman of the A.R.L.. Mr. \V. .T. Hammill presideel. The chairman said that he thought the league game should have an equal opportunity of being played in the schools, and although numerous obstacles had to got over he was pleased to say that the majorit} of schools had adopted a policy of allowing the boys to play which ever football code they desired. Towards the end of last season six schoolboy teams had played an interesting competition under the A.R.L. and at least six teams could be counted upon this year. A handsome shield would be donated for competition and caps would also be given. Nominations will close on April 2<.
