PRESENTATIONS.

A well-attended meeting of the Auckland Brokers' Association, was held in the Criterion Hotel on Tuesday afternoon, when the president, Mr. A. M. Howden, made presentations on behalf of the association to Messrs. L. A. Longuct and H. Wilson, two popular members who arc leaving the grain and produce business. Expressions of regret were made at the loss to the association of their genial fellowship, nnd all good wishes extended for their future success.

Captain A. J. Cross, M.C.. who left Matamata last evening for Te Kowhai. was. prior to his departure, the recipient of a gold mounted fountain pen from scholars of the Matamata Junior High School and a gold mounted wallet from the teachers. Captain Cross has been assistant master of the school since its inception.

Prior to his departure for Pukekolje. Mr. \V. Mortop, who has for several years been secretary of the Matamata Bowling C?ul», was presented with a cheque for a substantial amount by members of the club as a token of esteem and in recognition of his good services to the club.
