MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
POSSESSION OF TENEMENTS. Two cases came before Mr. W. R. McKean, S.M., at the Magistrate's Court to-day, in which possession was sought of dwellings for non-payment of rent. In one case the tenant gave the excuse: " I can't get a job," It was explained that £8 2/6 arrears had accumulated. Me. McKean: If you cannot pay the rent, you must give up possession of the house. It may be hard for you but I have no discretion. If rent is in arrears and possession of the tenement is asked for an order must be made. An order was made for possession within seven days. In the second case £17 10/ arrears of rent were due. An order was made for possession forthwith. Pollard and Lamb (Mr. L. K. Munro), j sought to recover from H. E. and I. F.
