MARIST LEAGUE CLUB.

SENIOR PLAYERS RESIGN. DISPUTE WITH EXECUTIVE. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. Four or five members of the Marist Rugby League Club have tendered their resignations to the committee, which has asked them to reconsider their action. The secretary, Mr. H. M. Blazey, when asked to do likewise, said he would stand by his decision, and his resignation was accordingly accepted. One of the other four or five has withdrawn his resignation and the others are reconsidering theirs. It is understood, however, that at least three of them have decided definitely to withdraw from the club, and that the Waimairi Club will benefit in playing strength thereby.

The trouble is stated to have been' caused by a club member coming forward with certain remarks regarding the conduct of the Marist senior grade team which travelled to Greymouth on the Hokitika excursion train on April 2. The team, of which Mr. Blazey was manager, played a match against the Grevmouth Marist Club.

The manager, it is understood furnished the usual report upon the match, but a few days later a member of the club came forward with certain remarks upon the visit. These remarks were denied by a committeeman who travelled with the team. The committee passed a motion thanking the member of the club for his remarks, but decided to accept as final the report of the committeeman. Then came the resignations. Practically all who have resigned were 6enior players last season. One of them played in the Marist A team, and at least three in the B team.
