A TALE OF THE NORTH WEST

Dear Boys and Girls, No doubt you have all been wondering when the good old CompetU tion Corner will make its reappearance. Now, 1 can tell you definitely that it will be back in the same old corner of the Budget next Wednesday, for the last section of the Easter Competition appears next Saturday, and you will now have a little more time in which to do the weekly competitions. Qf course, this competition does not close until the end of the month. I expect you are all trying to guess what form the last of the four sections will take, but, of course, it would spoil things completey if I were to tell you beforehand, so that would never do. How do you like our new Serial Story? I think it is always more interesting to read a serial than a number of short stories, because in it you read about the same characters so often that they soon become almost like real friends. " Boss " is one of the most wonderful dogs I have ever heard of. I know you will agree with me that stories of the Mounted Police are as interesting as any stories can be. Hearing about the vast open spaces, we cannot help feeling the call of Nature—a call which is bound to appeal to every healthy boy and girl. Many times when I have been 1 away camping have I had that mystic ST) I A ■ feeling of freedom and happiness f L/ J which comes only to those who can read in the bush and all its beauties the message which lies hidden there.
