The chief attraction will be the Auckland Racing Club's Easter meeting, which opens on Saturday and conchides on Monday. On the first day the main items are the Easter Handicap, (Jreat Northern Oaks, and Great Northern Champagne Stakes, while on Monday the principal items will be the Great Northern St. Leger and the King Edward Memorial Handicap. As usual the substantial prize money attached to the events has attracted practically all the best two-year-olds, three-year-olds, and older horses racing in New and the meeting promises to rank with the best of the autumn gatherings. Trotting* enthusiasts will probably trip away to Hawera, where the annual •two-day's fixture of the Hawera Club will be held on Saturday and Monday. The meeting has a strong Auckland flavour, as the majority of the horses engaged belong to this end of the island. On Good- Friday cricketers will be interested in the final game between Harbour Board and United Suburbs to decide the Suburban Association senior championship, and there will no doubt also be "unofficial" matches arranged. On Saturday the inter-'Varsity boxing tourney will be held in the Town Hall, tho preliminary bouts being decided during the morning, and the finals the samo night. These tournaments have in tho past introduced many promising boxers, and always good entertainment is provided. On Monday the inter-'Varsity sports meeting will be held at the Domain, and on the following day the association will conclude its tine Faster programme with a tennis tournament at the Stanley Street courts. In addition to the above athletic meetings will be held in many of the. country districts, while racing will be carried on in almost all the chief centres throughout the Dominion.
