AIR RAIDS PROBABLE.
SUGGESTED CHINA REPRISALS.
Powers To Submit Demands For Nanking Riots. BRITAIN ABANDONS CONCILIATORY PLAN.
GRAVITY OF OUTLOOK UNRELIEVED.
The Powers are jointly considering demands to be made on the Chinese for the Nanking outrages. While America is undecided whether to act alone or in co-operation with the other Powers, Britain is reported to have temporarily abandoned her policy of conciliation.
It is suggested unofficially that the presence of the Air Marshal at a Cabinet meeting may suggest air-bombing reprisals should the Powers' demands be rejected.
Additional naval units and land forces are being sent from Japan and America respectively for service in China.
