PRESBYTERY OFFICE BEARERS

AN ASSOCIATION FORMED. A large number of oflice bearers in the Presbytery of Auckland assembled in Unity Hall bist Thursday for the purpose of forming the Presbytery of Auckland Oflice Bearers' Association. Mr H. H. Burnett said that the aim was to get the otlice bearers together to discuss subjects relating to calling of the pre-.-c 11 1 meeting anil also for social intercourse. The Provisional Committee h u<l finished its work with the church work, and submitting tlie constitution drafted for submission \.q those present. Mr. Burnett said the constitution was drafted on the lines of some existing in Scotland. His Excellency the Governor had cabled for copies of such constitution for the use of the Provisional Committee. The leading objects of the constitution as adopted by the meeting were to promote union, and friendly intercourse hetwer.i the otlice bearers of the various congregations, and to maintain the feoling of brotherhood among them as fellow worker-; in the church; to give opportunity for consideration, and discussion of religious, social, and ecclesiastical problems that may at any time come before the community; and to co-operate by representation or otherwise, with any central union of elders or ollice bearers representing the whole of the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand, or any other church.
