RAILWAY INVESTIGATION.
SEQUEL TO RECENT THEFTS.

WELLINGTON,, Friday.
In consequence of the recent case in Christchurch, in which servants of the Railway Department were responsible for defalcations in accounts amounting to some thousands of pounds, it is stated that a board of two officers has been appointed: by the Public Service Commissioner- to conduct an inquiry into the Avhole system of payment of wages.
