SUBURBAN FIRE.
BRIGADE'S QUICK WORK.
A quick response to the call, and good work by the One Tree Hill fire brigade, saved a house in Wapiti Avenue, occupied by Mr. Eae Culpan, from destruction by fire at 7.30 this morning. The fire, -which appeared to have started in the vicinity of the hotwater tank, was confined "to the roof, the interior of the dwelling suffering chiefly from the effects of water.
OUTBREAK AT TAURANGA.
. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) TAURANGA, Friday. Tire this morning severely .damaged the house in Arundel Street owned and occupied by Mr. A. Hardy. The fire had a, firm hold when the brigade arrived, but a good save was effected. The main loom of the building, together with the wash-house and a quantity of furniture, was destroyed. The insurances are £SOO on the dwelling and on the furniture, both in the Guardian Assurance Office.
HOUSE DESTHOYED AT TE AWAMUTU.
<(Br Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) TE AWAMUTU, this day. Fire at midnight gutted an old dwelling, the front portion of which was occupied by Mr. Findlay. tailor. The flames had a good hold when discovered, and they burned fiercely. The' brigade checked the fire, but the buildinjr was gutted. It was insured for £200. and Mr. Findlay's stock was insured for [£100, both in the New Zealand Office.
