SUICIDE WAVE.
LASHING AMERICA. Epidemic in Students Continues Unabated. A DOCTOR'S REMEDY. (By Cable.— Copyright.—Press Association.) NEW \ ORK, March 9. The total of suicides by students has now readied 2S. The epidemic continues unabated and is causing increased anxiety. The latest instance is that of a Princeton University honours student, named Bruce Wilson, the son of a wealthv manufacturer, who drank iodine and then hanged himself in his room at college. He left no explanation of his act, though he was despondent through illhealth. Dr. Frederick Robinson, a leading sociologist, advances the following method to prevent additional tragedies: "Keep adolescents busy with arduous studies and wholesome physical exercises. Parental discipline must be maintained. A student should not l>e allowed to read philosophy, bchaviouristic psychology, or social science until he is beginning to grow up. "Sensational reports of suicides tend to impel others to tlu same act, and should l>e suppressed."
