NEW CATHOLIC CHURCH.
OPENED AT HIKURANGI. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WHANGAREI, Sunday. A new Roman Catholic Church at Hikurangi was blessed and opened this morning by Bishop Liston and dedicated to the Blessed Peter Chanel. High Mass was celebrated by Fatlu.r Campbell and sung by a choir from Whangarei, and the bishop administered the sacrament of confirmation to ten young people.
In the afternoon tho sacrament of confirmation was administered to 50 people at the Church of St. Francis Xavier at Whangarei.
