JE AROHA MEETING. IN THE SHADE WINS AGAIN. The annual meeting of" the Te Aroha Jockey Club was concluded to-day in beautiful weather. The course was in excellent order, and there was a good attendance. MANAWARU HURDLES of 200sovs. One mile and three-quarters. 2—PETER ROSA, br g, aged, bv St. Amans—Carl Rosa mare (Mr. P. Wedding March (£764), Peter Rosa (£470) and Uralla (£293), were most fancied, while Gold Rain haa less than £60 invested on his chance. When the field settled down, Uralla was in front and led past the stands from Gold Rain, Ulva's Isle, Pendennis and Gold Rain. Along the back Uralla was still in front attended by Pendennis, Gold Rain, Wedding March, Peter Rosa and Archibald. Pendennis led across the top from Uralla, Peter Rosa, Archibald, Gold Rain, Wedding March. Coming round the bend for home, Peter Rosa ran up to Pendennis with Uralla, Gold Rain and Wedding March next. Peter Rosa went on to win comfortably by two lengths from Gold Rain who beat Pendennis by a length. Wedding March was fourth. Time, 3.20 3—3. Adoree was left at the post, and took no part in the race. Exalted was the early leader from In the Shade, Corbel, Auriculus and Golden Wedding. Crossing the top Golden Wedding had run to. the front, and was attended by Exalted, In the Shade and Auriculus. The order was much the sam& into the straight, but In the Shade soon had the measure of Exalted, and went on to win by a length and a-quarter from Auriculus, with Exalted a length and a-half away, third. Lady Spalpeen, Alonsoa, Macroom, and Ngarara. Lady Cintra led across the top and into the straight, with Alonsoa, Lady Spalpeen, Kamehameha, and Wiltshire most handy. Lady Cintra had no trouble in going on to win by two lengths from Alonsoa, who beat Kamehameha by three-quar-ters of a length. Then came Wenday, Macroom, Lady Spalpeen, ' Ngarara, and Lord Guy.
