CAR OVERTURNED.
OCCUPANTS ESCAPE INJURY
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.! YVIIANGAREI, this day. A luxuriant growth. of paspalum grass on the roadside caused a motor accident near Hikurangi railway crossing 011 Saturday evening. Wliile Mr. Teal, a resident of Hukerenui district was driving his wife and family, homewards he swerved his motor car on to the grass to enable him to pass another vehicle,. thinking that the grass had a solid foundation, instead of which it masked a drop of five feet. The car overturned and three occupants in the rear seat were thrown, out.. The driver was by part of the car, but help was quickly forthcoming, and he
| was extricated. The car, which had a' shattered windscreen, a damaged hood and bent mudguards, was brought on to the road. Fortunately none of the , occupants was injured beyond shodk i and minor bruises.
