WHILE WAVING TO FRIEND. HORSE-TRAINER KILLED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) GISBORXE, Wednesday. A distressing fatality occurred at Matawhero this evening. Mr. Patrick Malone, a well-known horse trainer and one of the pioneers of Poverty Bay, aged 73, was driving homewards in a gig when he noticed a friend. He waved his whip at him in salutation, when the horse suddenly jumped forward. Mr. Malone was thrown out of the vehicle, and struck his forehead heavily. j He was killed instantaneously. I
