YOUNG MAN BEFORE COURT. MEDICAL INQUIRY ADVISED. By Telejrraph.—Own Correspondent.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. Andrew Blair, a young man, who committed arson at a shop and dwelling in Geraldine, and who threatened to l>urn down a hotel there, was obsessed with the idea of '"waking up the town," according to the Crown Prosecutor. When Blair came up for sentence before Mr. Justice Adams to-day the Crown Prosecutor said Blair had a keen desire to go about and burn down places for his own amusement. He was not up to the ordinary standard mentally. His Honor ordered that Blair be detained for reformative treatment for a term not exceeding three years, and suggested that he be medically examined.
