IX PIAKO COUNTY. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) MORRIXSYILLE, Tuesday. I A return of rates collected hy the , Piako Countv Council up to the loth inst shows that out of £42,890 of collectable rates for the current year, a total of | £28.505 has been collected, leaving , £14,205 outstanding. Out of £13.457 ot last year's rates otstanding at April 1, i 192(1." £882!) had been collected, leaving £4628 still outstanding, of which £2000 ; is stated to be uncolieetable. In the j Talruna ridir.e, Maori rates are difficult j to collect, it being stated that one Maori owning three motor lorries _ and two , ">tor cars has failed to pay his rates. (
