A petition authorised by the Aborigines' Protection League of South Australia, is being presented to the Federal Parliament as soon as it is possible after its transfer to Canberra, asking that a model aboriginal State be constituted to be managed ultimately by a native tribunal, as far as possible, according to their own laws. The petition also asks that provision be made that ultimately the government should be conducted by aborigines and that, at some future time, the administrator himself be an aboriginal. I
