' The Macartney benefit cricket match was continued yesterday between the Australian team which visited England and the Rest of Australia. In reply to the Best's score of 3Qi», Australia in their first innings made 535 runs (Ponsford 131, Woodfull 140, Andrews 115 not out, Gregory 44, Macartney 26, Everett 20). Williams took six wickets for 174, McXamee two for 122. The Rest of Australia in their second innings had made 32 runs without loss when stumps were drawn. ' Woodfull and Ponsford gave a delight-, ful exhibition of batting, and put on 223 runs for the first wicket. This is Ponsford's sixth century during the present season, and this constitutes an Australian record. Andrews made many , line shots, and took no risks. Macartney on going in to bat was given an enthusiastic ovation by the 25,000 spectators. He was also cheered by the Rest of Australia, led by Victor Richardson. A feature of the game was the wicketkeeping by O'Connor, who allowed only one bye to be scored.
