GISBOKNEJ (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) j GISBORNK, Saturday. < 'onsiderable interest was taken in the amateur athletic tournament this afternoon, a team of Wellington athletes being the chief attraction. The principal eVent was' the ladies' relay race for the Etevcoeaux t up. The Wellington team was : Misses Porter, Collins. Stevenson, and Mantau and the l'overty Bay team. Misses McDonald. McCarthy. Wilson, and Eastwood. The Wellington team was unfortunate, as Miss Collins tinishcd lame at the end of her section, and Miss Stevenson fell on passing I lie baton, disconcerting Miss Mantau. Poverty Bay won by I'ttvds. the time being •JO •"•JS. The 10<»yds ladies' iuvitation rave resulted:—Miss Wilson (Cisborne). 1". Mi»s Mantau ( Wellington t. 1': Miss Porter (Wellington!. Time. Ills, equal to the Poverty Bay record.
