CLOTHES=BUT NO WOMAN.

Recently, in Wellington, the clothes of • little girl were fovhd in the dressing' shed* at the ituniripal baths, and when j a search was made she was found j drowned. j A few da« later the caretaker of the j j Kapier municipal baths was borrißwi I I when, after dosing time, his assistant discovered in a cubicle a bundle of woman's clothes, immediatelr a stan-h of the pooi and of all the bath premise* was conducted, but with no result. The i caretaker and his assistant rushed out j to the beach and stumbled through thei shingle in the darkness, but again there was ho sign of the missing bather. The caretaker went to the police, and oh telling them all he knew a constable recollected that he had seen a Toungj woman with an overcoat covering her bathing attire, passing through the towr.. After a search her address was discovered, and the cause of all the ahxietr answered the 'phone herself. Her explanation was simple. *fot being conversant with the rules of the baths, she went out on to the brach after her dip. and attracted, doubtless. br the splendour of the night, did not return until after 0 o clock." to find the 1 • *li- Wtt«vl iin.
