NEW BATHS AT WHANGAREI.

» COMPLETE AND FREE OF DEBT. (By Telegraph.—Special to " Star.") WHANGAREI, Saturday. With the completion of the new Whangarei swimming baths, the final meeting of the committee who have had charge of the work, was held last night. Mr. A. H. Curtis (chairman), stated that :hey were proud in having assisted in molding the baths and handing them over free of debt. The amount of £712 6/3 had been collected or promised, and it was made up as follows:—Government grant £200, Swimming Club £100, private donations £412 C/ 3. Of this £94 7/6 remained to be collected, but all was good. The expenditure was £705, the chief items being: Bath. £407 4/; fences, conveniences and sheds! £192 19/7; installation of water and outlet, £74 IS/.
