OPPORTUNITIES FOR PABEXTS. Speaking at an informal gathering of parents at the opening of the new Ttkspuna Grammar School this morning, the headmaster (Mr. Littlejohn) aid thai he was strongly of the opinion thai education was not wholly utilitarian, and that he hoped that in the future arrangements would be made at lie school for the teaching of art and music, especially for the girl pupils. Also le hoped that when the library was completed the school would receive gifts of books. Mr. A. M. Gould, formerly Mayor of Takapuna, assured the headmaster that as soon as the workmen were off tht job the Ratepayers* Association would ready to assist in petting the sciw* jrrounds into order, for it was realised that this work depended largely on tbf parents.
