Ac a meeting of tile Ohinemuri Mine:? and Batteries Union yesterday, a. report of the recent conference with the '.nineowners relative to the new industrial agreement was received and discussed. After hearing their delegates' views, the meeting resolved to accept the offer for a farther extension of twelve months of tlie terms and conditions of the expiring agreement. The question of unemployment in the town was also raised at the meeting, anil Mr. Bice, the secretary, and the workmen's inspector are being instructed to interview Mr. Banks, the superintendent of the Waihi Mine, with regard to the possibility of early employment. About ten men applied at the Waihi Mine this morning for work. It iunderstood that the Mavor will consul: with Mr. Samuel, member for the district. on the matter.
