RUGBY CARNIVAL.
OTAHUHVj football club. A very successful sports and aquatic carnival was held at Seaside Park. Otahuhu. on Saturday afternoon, under the auspices of ilie local branch of the Rugby Union. There was a large attendance, including Messrs. Frogt. Cliffe, Buchanan. Anderson, Kront'eld. and Tilly, of the A.R.U. The Tunction was originated for the purpose of raising sufficient funds to erect a training shed, for which a site has been arranged. The financial results will considerably help towards the object in view. Seaside Park being on the banks of the Tamaki River and some distance from the township motor buses were employed to convey the patrons, and everything went off pleasantly. The following are the results of the various events: — Baby Show.—tinder nine months: Baby Hare 1. Baby Woods 2. Under 18 months: Baby Copeland 1, Baby Baskett 2. Married Ladies' Race.—Mrs. Maseficld 1. Mrs. Taylor 2 Mrs. Patterson 3. Single Ladies' Race.—Miss Appleyard 1, Miss Jeffries 2, Miss Maurant .1. Across River Swim.—J. Cook 1, W. Illcatt 2. 75 Yards Swim.—N. Campbell.
