| STEPHEN WALSH'S ADVENT. j (Received 12.30 p.m.) LOXDON, January 10. I What is hailed by the Press as the opening of a newera in the history of the miners' organisation, is the appointment of the Rt. Hon. Stephen Walsh, JI.P. (Lab., Lancaster), as President of the Lan--•ashire and Cheshire Miners' Association. Mr. Walsh was Secretary of State for War in the MacDonald Cabinet, and it is anticipated that his appointment will have repercussions.— (Sydney * •Sun.")
