ROBBERY WITH VIOLENCE.
CHINESE STOREKEEPER HELD
TWO MEN ADMIT GUILT.

At the Magistrate's Court this morning, before Mr. W. G. K. Kenrick, S.M., Leonard David Williams and William Gibson Young, engineers, employed at Cooper and Son's, Morrinsville, were charged with assaulting and robbing Tom San Wong Foo on December 12,- 1925.
Henry Kwong Leong, of Frank ton, acted ae interpreter, and Detective Sweeney prosecuted.
The latter asked that accused be remanded to Auckland. He was opposed to the granting of bail as there was a series of charges against Young.
Tom San Wong Foo detailed how they •ntered hie shop on December 12, threatened him with a revolver, tied him up with a rope, a towel and an apron, and stole £26 10/ out of his pocket and £20 out of his till. Witness freed himself in ten minutes and rang up the police, who were soon on the spot. He related the circumstances to them and they made investigations. Detective Sweeney stated that, in consequence of information received by Constables Cullotrv and Jackson, he located both accused at Morrinsville. They were interviewed separately, Williams first. Williams made a statement admitting his guilt and detailing their movements on the day in question. They started from Morrinsville at 4 o'clock on their motor cycles, and rode back immediately after stealing the money. Young was confronted with this statement and corroborated it.
Both accused pleaded guilty and were committed for sentence to the Supreme >-ouft at Auckland.
