fUCKLAND V. WELLINGTON. THE MATCH IS DRAWN (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Monday. The special cricket match between Auckland and Wellington ended to-day in a draw. Auckland's first innings realised 307 and Wellington replied with 487. In the second innings to-day Auckland compiled 289. E. H. Bowley, the Auckland coach, gave a taste of his batting (ability, ami Matheson played a forcing innings, again saving the situation for liis side. When stumps were drawn on Saturday Wellington had run up 435 for the loss of seven wickets. Hollings (34) and Christopherson (33) resumed to-day to the bowling of Player and Wilson. Runs came freely, until the total was 460. Hollings reached his half-century with a boundary. Christopherson tried to pull Dacre, ■who replaced Player, Bowley running round to take the catch. 470—8—46. Mitchell lifted a lucky single, and was then bowled by Wilson. Massey helped Hollings to raise the score to 487, and then was out Ibw to Dacre. Mills and Bowley opened the second innings for Auckland, who were 180 runs behind on ihe fust strike. McGirr and Massey were the bowlers. -The batsmen both got quickly into double figures. Bowley ran out to Mitchell at the first chance and Lowry Jnissed an easy chance of stumping him. When 21 Mills was given out lbw to the (Blow bowler. Cooper partnered Bowley and the pair carried the score to 61 at the luncheon adjournment. On resuming Bowley continued to bat ibrightly. He headed the list of individual scorers for the visitors with 66. Matheson contributed an invaluable 42, and Dacre had the next best score, 37 The innings closed with the total at 289.
